The New City Catechism

What We’re Learning

Each week, our Sunday school classes use the New City Catechism to help kids and students learn the foundational truths of the Christian faith. The catechism provides simple, memorable questions and answers that build a solid understanding of who God is, who we are, and what it means to live as His people.

For Parents & Caregivers

Keep the Conversation Going

You don’t need to have all the answers. A few curious questions and a quiet moment together can help the lesson take root throughout the week.

Start with the Question

Ask the week’s question during a meal, in the car, or at bedtime. Let your child answer in their own words before you review it together.

Make It Personal

Talk about how this truth connects to school, friendships, worries, or choices your child may face this week.

Open the Bible

Read the week’s passage aloud. Ask, “What does this show us about God?” and “What does it mean for us?”

Pray Together

Thank God for the truth you learned, then invite your child to turn one idea from the lesson into a short prayer.
